How much does it cost to have a tree removed?
Without looking at the particular tree you want removed, this is a difficult question. Many factors influence the cost, such as tree size and species, tree condition and tree location in relationship to buildings or utility lines. Other factors include, room for equipment access, acceptable level of damage to adjacent turf, and necessary equipment to complete the job safely and efficiently. Email us or call us at 718-6000 and we will be happy to provide a free estimate.
My tree is too large; will you top it for me?
Topping is detrimental to the health of any tree as it often removes 100% of the leaf-bearing crown. Since sugar production occurs in the leaves, topping can severely reduce the tree's ability to feed itself. The shoots that form after topping are weakly attached and more prone to breakage than branches which have grown normally. We strongly recommend against topping.
How much can I save if you leave the material on the street for the city to pick up?
It is illegal for a contractor to leave material for the city to pick up.
How much does it cost to grind a stump?
It depends on the size, species, location, and number of stumps you have. We have a $75 minimum charge for stump grinding. Email us or call us at 718-6000 and we will be happy to provide a free estimate.
I have roots that protrude through my lawn, should I grind them out?
We recommend that you do not grind the roots of a living tree. A better solution is to mulch over the area 2-4 inches deep to avoid mower and root damage. Alternatively, if you are intent on keeping the turf growing around the tree, it would be preferable to add a small amount of topsoil and reseed.
